No Biloxi Blues Here

Leaving the Big Easy with heavy hearts and full bellies, we decided to take a low key drive along Highway 90.  Highway 90 runs along the Gulf of Mexico from Louisiana, to Mississippi and then into Alabama.  It is a lovely drive along the coastline.  Along the way, we passed through some of  the beach cities like Gulf Shores and Biloxi. The drive is also dotted with mansions on stilts that are very beautiful.
Driving along the beach we had to stop and put our toes in the sand and feel the water.  The sand is a beautiful white color and the water is a relaxing 85 degrees.  This area of the country is a hidden gem.  I don't know that many of us out west know about this place.
As we continued to travel along the strand, we found the most amazing souvenir shops.  If I haven't mentioned it before, we have been collecting stickers from each state and activities that we have participated in along the way.  So, when we found these amazing shops, we knew that we had a good chance to find the stickers that we needed.  We walked through the giant Alligators mouth into the shop and found success.  The other shop on the other end of town had a giant shark mouth to walk through as you entered.
From the Gulf of Mexico we began to head north into Alabama.  We drove for a few hours while in search of an Alabama sticker for the truck.  Someone had told us to check out Cracker Barrel, so we stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Greenville, Alabama.  We decided to have lunch while we were there.  Unfortunately we didn't find any stickers and our lunch was anything but great.
We then headed to a nearby campground.  Dropping the trailer, we drove to the first golf course on our tour of The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.  The course is called Cambrian Ridge.  The reason I chose Cambrian Ridge, was that not only does it have a Par 3 course and a championship course.
When we arrived, I had planned on us playing the Par 3 course, but the guys in the pro shop gave us a great deal to play the championship course.  We jumped at the chance and had a great time doing so, despite poor play by all of us.  I think we were enthralled by the beauty of the golf course.
After golf, we headed back to the trailer for dinner and then early to bed.  We were going to get up the next morning and play the Par 3 course, before heading for Atlanta to see my brother and his family.
The next morning, we discovered the Par 3 course to  be equally as nice as the championship course.  I would even go so far as saying that it is the nicest Par 3 course that I have ever played.
Finishing our round, we headed out to our next destination on The Trail.  This time, we weren't going to be playing, just going for a tour around the golf course.  We drove about an hour and arrived at a town called Pratville.  Pratville, is home to Capital Hill Country Club.  Capital hill has three golf courses, The Legislature, The Senator and The Judge.  The course we toured was the Judge.  I had a great time sharing this awesome golf course with my family.
Satisfied with our tour, we returned the golf carts that the course loaned us and headed out to my brother Mike's place in Atlanta.
In the morning, a man said that I was the luckiest man in the world, to have my family playing golf with me.  What he doesn't know, is that I am the luckiest man, because I am blessed with a family that loves to hang out together and to do amazing adventures with.  Thank you Lord.
On to a traditional Fourth of July.
